The mission of the Academy for Emerging Professionals is to be the collective voice and source for information and support regarding career development for Emerging Professionals in order to shape the future of a resilient profession. The Academy for Emerging Professionals includes anyone pursuing a career in architecture from students to recently licensed architects of 10 years or less.
The Academy Aspires to:
Unite and disseminate information on architecture firm culture, internship, mentoring, registration, and practice in general.
Conduct or co-sponsor regular surveys of emerging professionals in California and compile data and research on new architect registration.
Host regular meetings on relevant issues to stimulate ongoing local, state, and national discussions.
Serve as a resource to and advise the AIA CA Board of Directors on issues relevant to this mission, including Associate appointments to committees and taskforces.
The success of the Academy for Emerging professionals is a direct result of the strong network at the local AIA component level. The AEP COA is a catalyst, bringing together component, sharing best practices and providing solutions to issues facing emerging professionals.
